Chief Accountant

Our client is a renowned trade corporation, part of successful international group with a strong presence in Bulgaria.

Currently, we are searching for an experienced and motivated manager to fill the position of:

Chief Accountant

Reporting line: CFO

Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Leading the Accounting Department, 20+ employees;
  • Organizing and controlling the proper preparation of balance sheets and monthly/annual closings;
  • Preparation and submission of monthly VAT returns, double taxation treaties and withholding tax returns;
  • Complete and timely provision of necessary documents to the auditors and other external controlling authorities;
  • Preparation of the Annual Financial, IFRS Statements and statistical annual reports;
  • Participation in international group corporate projects;
  • Keeping the line management informed of emerging issues, developments and trends in a timely manner.

Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:

  • Several years of experience as Chief Accountant or Deputy Chief Accountant in an international company;
  • Leadership experience; Ability to work in a team and to manage people in a positive manner;
  • University degree in Accounting, Finance or similar (ACCA or CIMA are considered as an advantage);
  • Good English and computer literacy;
  • IFRS knowledge as well as good knowledge of tax legislation;
  • Excellent organizational, communication and analytical thinking skills;
  • Result-driven, energetic, proactive and goal-oriented personality with high attention to detail.
